It has only been a month since the allegations concerning Russell Brand emerged. Criminal investigations take longer than that. He is being investigated by the police. It is likely to be some time before we find out if he will be charged with anything.
The alleged victim in the Huw Edwards case stated that nothing inappropriate or illegal had taken place, and pointed out that he was estranged from his mother and stepfather, who were the sources of the story. The police say they found no evidence of any crime and would not investigate further. The Sun backtracked on its initial claims and tried to claim that it had never alleged any criminality by Edwards. Two other allegations subsequently emerged, one person alleging Edwards sent abusive messages, the other claiming he had breached Covid lockdown rules. The BBC's investigation into all of this is ongoing, and Edwards is suspended until that is completed.
There was no allegation of criminality in the Phillip Schofield case. He is no longer employed by ITV. That is the outcome. As there was no criminality and the young man involved is apparently still a friend of Schofield's, there will be nothing further. I don't know what you were expecting.
