Such a sad story! Especially caused by the actions of someone else..sad that the Army are very similar to other past ones and its about organs and playing god and whatever else. And Hollie Dance is supporting the family..

You think they want him to die so they can harvest his organs? You realise of course the family can say no to that?

Eh..no I don't but the people in the 'Army' do.. same sort of crowd as previous Armies in these cases has attracted

The fact that Hollie Dance is supporting the cause says nothing for its legitimacy.

How on earth did you manage to get that so wrong?

wannabetraveler · 14/09/2023 18:59

It's a terrible situation but I think the verdict is correct. Medical experts gave determined that he is brain dead - regardless of what the sister "believes", the poor man's support should be withdrawn.

LakeTiticaca · 14/09/2023 19:19

Sad story and understandable that the family are grasping any straw of hope but sometimes there is no hope x

These cases are always so dreadful for everybody involved.

Those “armies”, egging on those driven beyond reason with grief for their own entertainment, should be ashamed of themselves.

ShadyPaws · 14/09/2023 19:29

Partly why I've done an advanced directive and also discussed with family - more people should do this
I know my dads wishes, he knows mine and my wishes are signed, witnessed and copies with me, my dad and my GP
People don't talk about death until it's too late

(I'm refusing life saving/extending treatment in the case of dementia, Parkinson's, brain injury and terminal illness and have also put my organ donor wishes in it)

Appeal denied..

Is interesting this time round it hadn't hit the headlines yet as much as other cases have..

It's appalling that the NHS is paying thousands of £s a day to keep a dead man artificially alive. Where is his dignity? And imagine the intensive efforts that this is taking, the staff must be so demoralised.

There needs to be better legal processes around cases like this, so families can't cost the Government millions of £s in their utter denial. And before anyone leaps on me, I lost my son at birth. I know the pain of losing a child. But sometimes Doctors just can't save someone, and this process of artificially being kept alive helps no one.

Passepartoute · 02/10/2023 17:05

Unfortunately it probably isn't hitting the headlines because it doesn't involve a child or a pretty young woman.
