Government reckons only 15 people are sleeping rough in the whole of the West Midlands?

My arse.

Like the other year when they claimed there were only six rough sleepers in London. They don't look properly, they don't really want to know, all they care about is trumpeting stupid, misleading and inaccurate figures to make it look like they are doing something.

Many of those who are homeless have dropped out of society (whether intentionally or not) - i.e. have no papertrail. In govt terms they don't exist. Which is what makes it so difficult for a lot of them to get out the situation they are in - to move back into society.

SO while it is stupid for the govt to say 'there are only x no of rough sleepers in this area' it may reflect the actual records they hold.

Do you think there's any chance that this will get them to make it easier for the homeless to stop being homeless?

I fear, probably not.
