The missing 2yr old in France

Little Emile is 2 and the initial story was he was being looked after by grandparents in their tiny village when they had taken their eyes off him for 15 mins and he took the notion to go off. He is a good walker apparently.
But now it's come out there was a family gathering. Lots of aunts and uncles there.
He was spotted by some other people walking down the road but they lost sight of him?
And now on twitter there are stories about the parents being targeted in some kind of revenge (far right stuff I think but it's hard to know as it's all in french!)

I am just finding myself thinking about the boy all the time. Where is he? Was he kidnapped? Is he hiding? Is he hurt?

Poor soul :(

Do you have a link for this? No uk news sites say this.

What about the car with blood on the front?

WildCherryBlossom · 13/07/2023 11:59

I think I read that the blood in the car turned out to be an animal's (sorry can't find the article)

Not according to the French lunchtime news on FR 3 I just watched and it's not being reported currently (1330 French time) on any of the French rolling news sources just as BFM - I just checked. All they are reporting is that a supposedly final search of the area this AM found nothing new.

What's your source?

I hope he's found, he have a 2 year old child and I cannot bear the thoughts of what can/could happen. We were at the playground recently and I walked ahead trying to get her to leave with me. I looked back and she was heading in the opposite direction! The instant fear of what if popped into my mind.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 13/07/2023 15:15

I know, it just goes right through you doesn't it?
Poor Emile, please be ok

There is talk that the parents may be involved and the search is changing direction hence ending the local search. Red flags have appeared in the fathers background checks and the mother stayed away from the scene and would not talk to police for the first three days. There is a lot more to this story than is appearing in the press at this stage.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 13/07/2023 17:07

Oh gosh that is not good.

Poor Emile. I want to give him a cuddle

The police usually know more than they share with the public in these cases.

noglow · 13/07/2023 17:29

I don't get how a toddler can go missing if all those people were around

Because everyone thinks someone else is looking after him.

Good point. And I guess you don't expect them to wander off far

I’m really sorry, I really thought that I had read that but I can’t remember where. Apologies and thank you for deleting.
