Men and Women are not the same

Over the last few years we have had a number of high profile cases of women being abducted and murdered by men.

The likelihood of a woman abducting another woman is extremely low.

In the brave new world of gender neutrality in all aspects of modern life this fact remains the same.

We need to focus on the real issues - of women being made to feel more safe against violence perpetrated by men

Agreed, either through personally lived experiences, or on reading of these horrible events, women have very few safe spaces, or places where they can walk freely without worry.

@crocusfocus agreed we are not the same

I feel women want to believe that they can dress how they want and go out and about as they please because why not but the sad fact is we can’t because we are increasingly at risk

every time I go out I find myself being more and more hyper aware, if I’m taking a walk out alone I’m constantly looking around me like some kind of demented owl, head on a swivel lol

Sorry meant to also add

There was a 65 year old woman out walking her dogs and was raped !

nothing to do with being pretty or young it’s all women, of all ages

Caroline Criado Perez, author of Invisible Women wrote about this in her newsletter this morning. She talks about "the constant drip-feed of British police officers raping and brutalising women", schoolboys learning Andrew Tate's misogyny, and women discovering their faces have been used for deepfake porn by a [male] colleague. How [some] men like to remind us that we don't have freedom like they do, to keep us in our place.

It's a good piece. Her anger is crystal clear and utterly justified.

Unless we acknowledge that we are statistically the more vulnerable sex we are not focusing on how we can make ourselves safer. It feels almost the issue is becoming overlooked by the scramble to maintain men and women are equal
