Their murderer has been sentenced to 36 years. Guilty of both murders and the jury also found him guilty of sexually assaulting Jellica, raping another child, and attempting to pervert the course of justice. There are other details too horrific for the public to be told about.

It’s a horrific story. I hope those who knew knew and loved Bennylin & Jellica can take some comfort in the verdict. The disgusting smirk on the man as he was escorted out of the court on the BBC report was revolting.

It's absolutely horrific, that poor family knowing what happened and how awful for the little girl that survived. Thank goodness the police arrived when they did.

I have no words for how angry that makes me and I find myself hoping he gets some rough justice in prison.

He won't be smirking for long in prison. I really, really hope someone is ready and waiting to give him a taste of his own medicine. Every day for the next 36 years.

It makes me sick, in cases such as this the death penalty is the only punishment needed!

It is such a horrendous case. Like something out of a horror film.

Watched this programme tonight - hadn’t heard about it before. Such a terribly sad story. Seems like he had planned it all along…
