Well I thought they already took booze off under-18s drinking in public - we always used to hide our drinks from the police because we thought they would. Confused

CaptainCod · 04/02/2008 09:30

yes cider perniod special brew vodka barley wine gin bitter lager cherry b mild mainly

pernod in lager in fact or pernod in special brew

in pubs on doorsteps on war memorials parties parks

not for drinking as such

was chased by the police once after a drug/alcohol evening which involved something to do with a taxi driver, was caught when i eventually fell over, and taken to the police station well would have been but i collapsed in the police car and was taken to the hospital instead where i had a stomach pump and a major fight with the staff/police trying to hold me down

i then had a subsequent home visit from the police and an interrogsation about drug dealers which my parents were not to please d about also meant i got mildly harrassed out in town by police..i wasn't cooperative however

ZippiBabes · 04/02/2008 09:33

my dd2 was taken to the police station under the influence and i was called to fetch her

she used to drink in parks etc

ZippiBabes · 04/02/2008 09:43

no one else is going to answer this question are they lol

DaDaDa · 04/02/2008 12:31

Drank in pubs from around 15/16. Before that we used to traipse round the streets to the parks with lager and cider and (boak) sherry. I was always trailing at the back of the group looking embarrased and muttering at my mates to behave themselves - was always a 'good' boy really.

varicoseveined · 04/02/2008 21:17

I daresay there's more than enough over 18s being antisocial due to alcohol in most town centres

In reply to cod's question - nah didn't really want to drink when I was under 18 but sadly went a bit OTT with it when I was about 19-20...

CaptainCod · 04/02/2008 21:34

i did but i think we slunk into pubs

I thought they could confiscate booze off under 18's anyway?

I was 12 when I first got drunk, which seems awfully young looking back.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 04/02/2008 21:56

I drank underage, started at about 14/15. In the street, in the pub, wherever really. I got caught and chucked out of a pub by the police and I got caught by my mum when I left my purse in the pub with my phone number in it and the landlord rang home.

We got plastered but never bothered/threatened anyone - it's not like that today is it?

Hulababy · 04/02/2008 21:59

I never drank in the street or park; never hung out in the streets either though. We always went to someone's house and hung out there. Drinking didn't really come into it until we were at sixth form, so nearer 17 TBH.

I can understand why they want to curb the anti-social behaviour of some of these kids though.
