My friend's wonderfully brave SIL

She has gained her wings article in The Times

she is indeed a fantasticly brave lady.

sadly such stories are rarely told. my SIL's mother died in very similar circumstances.
she discovered she had breast cancer whilst pregnant with SIL. she refused treatment becuase of the pregnancy.

byt the time SIL was born the cancer was very aggressive and had already spread. she died when SIL was 8 months old.

my heart goes out to her husband and children.
