This part of the story sounds odd. If he could get another to help him for a paternity test, why would he choose a relative?
Why would she get pregnant with a married man? Although I feel sorry for Tom Jone's son, as even if Tom thinks his mother got pregnant on purpose, it isn't the child's fault.
