News have just announced that the Queen has died

She was an amazing woman. RIP.

I'm not a royalist but I had great respect for her. It's the end of a very long era. I'm in my 50s and she was middle-aged when I was born. She's just always been there. Rest In peace.

I'm no Royalist either, but I have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. She absolutely was one of a kind. RIP

She was one of a kind and it’s a truly sad day 💔 may she rest in peace. I feel so sad, she’s the only Monarch most of us have ever known. What an incredible Woman

It's the feeling things will never be the same again. The Elizabethan age is over.

Things will be exactly the same:

The Queen's death is a sad event for most of us, but not as momentous as the BBC would have you believe. I really wish it was going to make a difference to our world. It should remind us that we are all mortal and make us reflect on our common humanity. From that point we could move to making this world a better and kinder place.

I wish I thought that anything like this would happen but am not holding my breath.
