Very thought-provoking article, thanks MM.

I hadn't realised that 38 people saw James being hurt and did NOTHING. That's unbelievable, sickening, sad...

JanH · 01/12/2004 14:57

Robert Thompson for you, mm. (You've got your { and your \ back to front I think!)

tammyloveschristmas · 01/12/2004 14:58

Exactly, why did no one step in? I would have, i spose the whole situation is full of i wishes....

The saddest of the witnesses (some were on buses, in cars etc, it doesn't mean they all just walked past) was the woman who did confront them - they said he was lost and they were taking him to the police station which was just across the road so she let them go. (I think that was how it happened...or was it that he was their brother?) Whatever, that poor woman had the nous to question them but was taken in by their performance. Imagine how she feels.

tammyloveschristmas · 01/12/2004 15:03

I dont want to imagine how she feels it would be too bad.
I just cant seem to get past the pictures of the beautiful smiling little James, and what they did to him, i feel his pain and the fear makes me feel physically sick, i want to curl up and cry for him this is why i find it so hard to feel nothing but hatee and see nothing but monsters.

donnie · 01/12/2004 15:14

' I would prefer a gas chamber or the gallows' says Tammylove. Oh really? can you claim that this is a sensible and rational comment? Didn't Hitler favour the former? in fact, why not go the whole hog and introduce torture chambers too ? after all, we don't want those 'evil-eyed monsters' getting off lightly do we? I suppose you thought the Taleban did a great job shooting 'immoral women' in Kabul too, and that those naughty thieves in Saudi deserve to suffer amputation. I really think you should revert to your earlier name as it suits you far better. I have to say I find it sad that some people have nothing better to do than trawl tabloid garbage and read useless 'books' about serial killers and hideous crimes. You keep referring to all these so called ' facts' about the case but cannot establish a source. What sort of literature will you encourage your children to read ? I tremble to think.
I say again if we impose murder on those who kill we reduce ourselves to their moral level and that can only be deleterious to any society and devalue life in general, especially if we agree to kill children who offend. In Uruguay and other countries , child thieves and street kids are just shot by the police and buried in unmarked graves with impunity. I for one am glad not to live there.End of.

Donnie, been the polite person you are, the facts i recall i have already said from a book called, 'Every mothers nightmare', Do a google search for it.

As for the former comments, grow up, we are talking an awful crime here not a bit of stealing.

And i am sick of the lets treat them as the victims, have you given James and HIS family that respect. Before you come on here and poorly TRY to be little me, get YOUR facts straight first.

tammyloveschristmas · 01/12/2004 15:23

Midnight, thank you, i havent asked anyone to agree with me i respect your opinions and i expect the same respect back.

hercyulelog · 01/12/2004 15:23

Not one person has ever implied that Jamie and his family were victims. Tammylove - do you not concede even a little that the two boys were victims in this as well?

tammyloveschristmas · 01/12/2004 15:26

Of what, a bad life? Abuse what? As i said i respect your opinion and i will give the threads some consideration because i try to be fair to others opinions.
But people come on here and let their mouths run riot, because they are law?

I cant help how i feel i have been honest and i have tried to answer everything i have been asked, but if certain members are just going to be rude then thats unfair.

And Donnie if your going to be childish and make stupid statements to big yourself up, then bring it on.......

tammyloveschristmas · 01/12/2004 15:29

Midnight, Donnies comments were way off the mark and that comment about dreading to think what my kids read, how dare anyone bring my children into it.

And for that thank you, i get so mad at rude people.

donnie · 01/12/2004 15:32

well firstly, Tammy, I won't do a google search on that 'book' because it cannot possibly offer me anything enlightening or valuable in any way and I make a point of not reading dross. Secondly, you are cutting it fine when you demand ' respect' on the one hand yet make comments like ' I would prefer a gas chamber or the gallows' on the other. So we'll just leave it there shall we? I've no more to add to my comments on this thread.

tammyloveschristmas · 01/12/2004 15:34

Good, an seeing how they werent aimed at you personally, why get your knickers in a twist?

My comment of the gas chamber was an example of the death penalty, would you prefer i said electric chair? Lethal injection.

But that isnt the argument here is it , i disagree with you and you dont like it.

hercyulelog · 01/12/2004 15:35

Err yes, those things you mentioned.

noddy5 · 01/12/2004 15:36

my god!Listen to yourselves

tammyloveschristmas · 01/12/2004 15:36

Did i?
Well as i said thats how i felt at that time. I will always listen and read other threads and try to see other ways of looking at things.

Rudeness i wont take.

mikeyjon · 01/12/2004 15:46

before reading your i thought i had a clear opinion of how thompson & venables should have been treated, i couldnt get over the thought of what poor james had been through and felt (and still feel) so angry that this could have happened. i was all for bringing back capital punishment ect..... but reading your comments one thing keeps jumping out at me. these evil murderers were only 10 years old. only children. i am now just confused.... not so much angry but very very sad. am at a loss for words....

Uwila · 01/12/2004 15:46

Tammy, don't feel too bad. Donnie has a habit of shooting off her mouth and then failing to back up her own statements with fact. She is rude, emotional, and agressive in some of her posts. I too once refused to reply to her questions until she could treat me with a bit of respect.
