How we raise children--generation angst

Very interesting article on the way we raise children in The Times today:

Including this bit, which I find reasssuring:

'?Violent deaths of children have never been lower since records began,? says Colin Pritchard, of the University of Bournemouth.'

I saw that- thought it was a relatively balanced article, interesting. Still not sure what exactly we're supposed to do about it all- hardly going to let our LO's wander the streets with all the cars are we?

Well, I let mine but we're very quiet around here and they have been used to being out alone for some years. But in a busy city street it's quite different. Damn cars--can't live with them, can't live without them.
