I want to believe he really didn't have a clue what was going on but the cynical part of me feels he knew what would happen when he threw his son and jumped with his daughter, and he is using his family's mental issues as a defence.

I doubt we will ever truly understand what went on.

A poor innocent little boy is dead and that is the biggest tragedy.

is he coming back to the UK to be placed in a psychiatric unit?

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 23/01/2008 13:50

Liam's mum feels her son lost his life for nothing.

Not the verdict she expected.

bossybritches · 23/01/2008 13:51

Kerry it is quite clear that despite your personal experiences you have NO idea about Mental Health issues in this context.

He has said in a statement (BBC news at 1 o'clock) that no-one could punish him as much as he had punished himself every day since it happened.

You are refusing to acknowledge what people have tried to explain about the guilty/not-guilty thing in court.

You are entitled to have your say as had anyone on this thread but to fling statements like that around is not constructive to the debate.

He was found not guilty Dittany. The jury took the view that he was mentally unwell at the time.

It's sad for everyone in the family and the result won't change no matter how much people rant in an ill-informed way about mental health issues

Exactly Fio- she probably wants to tear him limb from limb, entirely understandable but as you say not her call, but it must bring back the horrors all over again.

Bundle- you are so right.

Yes KK they do.

His suicides were probably part of his mental health problems & his growing realisation of what he'd done, his cries for help are non the less valid.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 23/01/2008 14:17

I feel evil is quite strong.

We only know what we have rad in the paper along with our gut feelings which are worth nothing tbh.
