I just caught the end of the item - 3 people with minor injuries. Looks like a BA plane. What happened?

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 17/01/2008 13:24

It came down short of the run way. No one knows why yet but all landings and take offs are suspended atm. Gordon Brown is sat on his plane waiting to go to China.

bbc news website says:

BA flight lands short of runway

Passengers have been led to safety after a passenger jet landed short of the runway at Heathrow Airport.
The plane was British Airways flight BA38 from Beijing to London.

Six ambulances were sent to the scene and three people are being reported for minor injuries. Emergency services remain at the scene.

The incident happened as Prime Minister Gordon Brown was due to leave Heathrow for China and India. His flight was delayed because of the incident.

Eyewitness John Rowland said: "The plane's wheels collapsed, doors were flown open.

"On its approach it took the runway too low, just missing the roof of my cab.

"It crashed into the runway, debris was flying everywhere, there was an enormous bang and it skidded sideways."

YEP it is OK can you link that to me so that I can try getting him again Kanga

BadKitten · 17/01/2008 13:40

Slightly worrying co-incidence that its at the time that the PM and loads of very high company execs are on a plane waiting to take off to meeting in China. Probably paranoid of me but I hope that plane takes off safely.

shoshe · 17/01/2008 13:43

found it still scheduled kanga, Still cant get hold of him either. Well he might have a delay, serves him right for going without me

RTKangaMummy · 17/01/2008 13:57

On News 24 someone is speaking and saying he can't see it just being an error of judgement, insinuating something must have gone wrong with the plane.

you should have been in SA in November.

3 airplains had problems - one's enjin fell off, another one couldn't land and there was another one with a problem - I think all from one airline!

Hope anyone who must fly out or in will be accomodated. good luck shoshe on finding you DH
