I always knew he was the first to climb Everest - but never realised the work he did for the Nepalese Sherpa

I never realised he did so much for teh Sherpa's either. Some achievement that, although i ahve ot say, I don't "get" the point of mountaineering

He had a very full life, didn't he? So sad about his wife and daughter though.
