Where do you find quality journalism & news reporting

In the past, Ive been a subscriber to the Times, The Telegraph and The Guardian. Im currently subscribed to The Times again but read the BBC news, The Independent, Sky News & what's available without subscription of The New York Times and various other sites, such as The Atlantic, Bellingcat and Reuters.

I'm finding though in the last few years that journalism seems to have gone 'lite' with very little in the way of solid serious investigative journalism, especially with a focus on the UK. I have no idea whats going on locally or nationally bar what i hear on Radio4 daily but thats very skewed towards international news. My local newspaper just reports on who's been killed, stabbed or robbed.

Am I looking in the wrong places?

Whole business parks and towns spring up which i have no idea about. My local Facebook is awash with MLM adverts and lost dogs.

Byline Times.

I don’t know about for local news but I read the economist and NYT. Sometimes those more investigative websites like the intercept and bellingcat. I’m particularly interested in corruption so like the OCCRP too.

100% agree OP, I have switched over to GB News, it’s a little rough around the edges, expect technical hitches, it’s a newish channel, but more probing than most MSM. I like Mark Steyn, 8pm Dan Wootton 9pm & Neil Oliver at weekend evenings & Mark Dolan.

Mark Steyn is good. His politics are the polar opposite of mine but I enjoy his scepticism.

The Economist is good for a bit more in depth coverage and Al Jazeera gives a good global overview
