Refugees from Urkraine will be able to come to Britain if they have a sponsor and somewhere to stay.

For all the people saying they want to help, I wonder how many will actually get to come via this route?

I'll admit, I think the whole situation is awful, I've donated, I'd be happy to help with anything that needs doing the community to welcome them, but I'm not going to invite a desperate stranger into my home.

I've just seen that on the news, and like you would not invite a stranger into my home. I live alone and have the room but I don't speak their language, how long would they stay, who pays for them ? So many more questions.

Well I have no spare room at my house and I think most people won’t, but a few of my friends are renting an empty house between them for 6 months to help someone out.

I have given the situation serious thought.

I'd consider a young adult female 16plus than needs temporary accommodation

We have a large house with an annex so they would Be pretty self sufficient

What worries me more is given them the mental Support they would
Need. We live in a village so it would
Feel Very isolating for them. As no other refugees to meet with.

But I'm definitely giving it serious consideration.

I'm in the "I'd help but I can't" camp. I dont have a spare bedroom, so it's a moot point. I do hope that people are able to step up and help do so. I can understand the hesitancy people have in doing so. My understanding is that people will be able to work under the scheme, so it would potentially be like a lodger situation?

There may be language barriers and trauma to deal with but I would hope there is something being put in place to deal with all that. But realistically, probably not, they'll just be left to get on with it.

I'm concerned it could leave people open to trafficking, so I hope there will be proper checks in place where people are going to
