Awful. Awful situation. I can hardly even blame the soldiers really. It's the politicians I think are responsible for the whole sorry, frightening mess.
I do however think 'insurgents' is the wrong word to use to describe the opposition forces. As far as I can gather, most of them are Iraqis, so where are they 'surging in' from?

sorry might sound controversial but im not trying to be, its just a genuine question- what do you think would of happened if it had been the other way round an the iraqi insurgent found an injured american soldier?

An American soldier was killed on Sunday when a body of an iraqi man he was tending blew up - turned out it was wired with explosives. So many of the insurgents want to die and go to "paradise". I know its terrible but you have to see both sides. How do you know if they are suicide bombers?

this is terrible, what with that woman margaret being killed too. I cannot see a way of resolving things, I feel that brits and americans will not be safe travelling in the middle east for many many years to come. This war is and has been so messy, our reasons for going in are blurred, our enemies and allies are indistinguishable and is the threat of terrorism any less?

I was with a friend last night at the cinema watching bridget jones, we were discussing how surreal it all is, we are at war and yet we are in the cinema watching a rather shallow (although very funny) film!
