Of the Lib Dems

but does it really matter?

Well, it matters if you're a Lib Dem.

And it might matter an awful lot if there is a hung parliament, which is still the most likely outcome of the next election.

PortAndLemonaid · 18/12/2007 15:21

Hmm. I wasn't madly impressed by him when we had the "live chat" (ha!) with him on here.

walkinginawinterBundleland · 18/12/2007 15:25

I'm not sure that it "matters" if there's a hung parliament, as there was hardly much difference in policies between clegg & huhne

I may be wrong, but my impression was that Huhne is more to the left of the party and would have been less inclined to do pacts/deals/agreements with Cameron.

Lauriefairycake · 18/12/2007 15:49

I'm a Lib Dem, an active one

and I don't give a tossin' fark

Swedes2Turnips1 · 18/12/2007 16:34

For me, Huhne always brings to mind the wide-mouthed frog - I think the right man won. Plus, a very good friend of mine is one of Clegg's top men in his shadow cabinet. UQD makes a good point about the likelihood of a hung parliament. I think it is therefore essential that in order to procure people's votes, they come clean over what agreements might be made with what party.

UnquietDad · 18/12/2007 16:51

Oooh, namedropper, swedes! You know what role this person is likely to get, then? Do you think he will "reach out" to Huhne and give him a shadow position?

Swedes2Turnips1 · 18/12/2007 17:10

I thought you had to drop a name to be a namedropper.

UnquietDad · 18/12/2007 17:13

Well, technically you do, yes!

sfxmum · 18/12/2007 18:13

apparently NG has never heard Fairy Tale of New York bless

of course it is not the most pertinent issue of the day for him to comment on

walkinginawinterBundleland · 18/12/2007 18:14

swedes they're hardly the shadow cabinet. more like the shadow of the shadow cabinet

walkinginawinter - I think all political parties have a 'shadow cabinet' - no matter how feint the shadow.

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 18/12/2007 23:06

After the live chat, I feel a bit about this tbh...
