it's really sad. My grandad brought me up to be totally into sport and football was the main thing. He was my fav on Question of sport when I was little. He was only 57

spacemonkey · 09/11/2004 12:50

blimey, very sad news

NomDePlume · 09/11/2004 12:52

Not read the link, but heard it on tv this morning. Been fighting a brain tumour for years apparently, only 56. Very sad.

Aero · 09/11/2004 12:52

Me too zephyrcat - was a very funny man.

Oh that is sad. He was a good man

emmatmg · 09/11/2004 13:03

I was bought up by my sports mad Dad too. Still love question of sport now. I hope they do a tribute to him because him and Bill Beaumont were brilliant on there.

blossomhill · 09/11/2004 13:20

I am sitting here in tears. Same age as my parents too!
I just remember him on question of sport. So full of life

zephyrcat · 09/11/2004 13:23

emmatmg they have to, and I'm sure they will. To me him and Bill Beaumont still are question of sport - its never been the same as it was with them.

emmatmg · 09/11/2004 13:26

I agree zephycat.

Hulababy · 09/11/2004 13:33

Very sad. We saw something on the local news about him at a charity do not too long ago, and he did look pretty ill then.

Sozie · 09/11/2004 14:01

That's so sad - I thought he was a lovely guy and today's by birthday as well

Davros · 09/11/2004 17:50

Sad to lose Crazy Horse, heard he'd been ill ages ago but they said on radio today he'd been treated for brain tumour since last Aug (maybe 2003?)

zephyrcat · 09/11/2004 18:05

You know I was walking to the shops earlier thinking about it being sad and that it was that kingd of miserable rainy, grey day. But something made me smile - My Grandad is going to be so chuffed that Emlyn Hughes is up there with him!!
