Would it be really crass to make a joke about it?

The poor man!

crass jokes go down well in our house flicky - my dh has already sniggered at the poor man! then felt remorseful when i chastised him

This was on TV a couple of days ago and the American doctor did think it was treatable, got a drug company to donate the appropriate drug and found a local way to administer it (it's a imuno deficiency problem). But then the man didn't want to be treated in the end. Very sad. I hope he has since changed his mind. He seemed a very depressed person, and he had a lovely supportive family.
