Assault on Falluja

Can't help but think about the impending massacre that's bound to happen in Falluja tonight. 100,000 people are still there - mostly men, as women and children have moved away to safer areas. There are no supplies at the hospitals for any injured.

Lots of fathers and sons who will lose their lives in the next few days.

The constant bangs of fireworks seem very ominous tonight.

I agree. It's so disheartening that a labour government has given permission for our troops to be used so that USA troops could be freed up to perpetrate a massacre. Come back Harold Wilson, all is forgiven.

oh god, on top of the catastrophic election result...i can't bear it, and it's being done in our name...forgive those who are making these totally unbelievable decisions...it's awful...

The US held off on Falluja until after the election - bad for votes if they got US service deaths.

Sadly, Iraqi civilian deaths don't seem to bother lots of US voters.

US Service personnel lost: 1128
Iraqi civilians lost: up to 100,000 (mostly women and children)

Have just watched interview with US Marines going into Falluja, wonder if the crusaders gave the same kind of pep talks 1000 years ago. Evolution is so slow.

Storytime tonight for my 5 and 7 year old was The King, the mouse and the cheese. They understood the message, lets hope our children do a better job than we are...
