Is anyone else finding the Meredith Kercher case quite bizarre?

What a bizarre case. The 3 flatmates accused of her murder deny being at the scene but forensic experts have found evidence to suggest they were there.

The female flatmate has changed her story 3 times now .

What do make of it? Very weird eh?

My thoughts exactly cod, talk about falling amongst thieves, poor Meredith

SuzieSweep · 12/11/2007 14:05

The female flatmate apparantly held Meredith down for the men to have sex with her. She must be an evil peice of work.

Very odd. Poor girl, she lived up the road from me.

I think that she fell in with some very bad company indeed. I'd guess that they were as high as kites and that simply she didn't want group sex, got inexpertly knifed by one of the blokes(rape threat gone wrong) and that her 'friend' can barely remember what happened.
It is so sad, the poor girl.

Her poor mum and dad too
Wish the press would show a little restraint in the coverage tbh

Carmanere's interpretation of what might have happened is more or less like those given by Italian newpapers. Poor girl. I trusted my friends so much at that age (still do)

SuzieSweep · 12/11/2007 14:12

she was still a baby i mean .

I agree the press coverage has been truly awful. Big headline saying 3 HOURS TO DIE. Her friends and family will read that

It all seems very odd to me.

I think it is bizarre that the judge and then the media can give us all a running commentary on what they reckon happened when there hasn't been a trial and the suspects haven't confessed. What if one or more of them have been framed by the others? We don't know who is or isn't guilty at the moment or of what exactly.

I was shocked to see actual headlines describing in detail how she died - her poor, poor family and friends, having to walk past that.

x-posted DrN.

cod, I think there was some kind of town and gown thing going on.
They have a University for Foreigners there - the students are not part of the Italian higher education system.
Some of my friends in French university halls where there was a decision to house foreign students in a separate Pavillon Internationale experienced quite a lot of late night hassle because of this sort of demarcation
(I ended up in a boys' hall full of physicists and PE students, rub by a Jehovah's Witness couple which was much, much safer)

The Today Programme on Radio Four eagerly read out salacious extracts from tabloid coverage about the manner of death in its press review. I was disgusted. Felt like complaining. Poor family, to hear their daughter's suffering drooled over like that.

Dinosaur · 12/11/2007 14:21

That's awful - I had no idea the media coverage had been so salacious.

ElenyaTuesday · 12/11/2007 14:27

Poor, poor girl - she was from not too far from me. She won a scholarship to a high-flying girls' private school - she was obviously incredibly bright and such a beautiful girl. A real tragedy.

Just said on sky news that DNA evidence suggests Knox was at the scene of the murder, her dna was all over the knife.

I wonder if she was the sole killer or was it joint - I guess we will have to wait and see.

goldenoldie · 15/11/2007 19:42

and Knox has now found God, how conveinent.........
