How utterly awful for them to be taken away from their families with all those promises, only to be entirely let down.

(BBC News at 10pm)

really and about this. I can't believe that people can engage in such staggeringly ill-conceived behaviour.

Seeing those children crying because a shipment came in and there wasnt enough to go around just broke my heart.

What's happened ( I missed the news)?

A french charity lured (I think is the best word to describe it) children away from their families with promises of a better life, sweets (ffs!), education and toys etc.

They couldnt follow through AT ALL. These children are in limbo in a huge camp-type set up waiting for help.

Some families have come back to try and get their children back.

oh god, I didn't realise that the children were stuck iyswim, thought that they had been returned to their families.

That's terrible ppor children. Is there anything we can do to help i.e. donate - are any Brit charities stepping into assist?

a bit on it here

Nothing, I dont think. The families just need re-uniting with their children.

Three cheers for the 'civilised' western world
