Dog food by law has to be edible by humans. So if by changing vitamins to suit humans she can produce a nutritial meal which is suitable for humans (and is cheap, easy to transport, easy to store and easy to use/consume) then I say great!
I think the journalist was being deliberately outraged 'X things there is no difference between an african and a puppy' is a quote that shows this.
She makes dog food. So she knows about cheap food production, food which is tinned or dry and easily re-constituted. She is now thinking outside the box and coming up with a solution for starving africans. Out of her own pocket, she is not selling this to Africa is she?
So good on her.
(unless I have completely misread the article and am talking rubbish)
