Please weigh in with opinions....do the police need longer and more indepth training to deal with the problems the UK is facing and does the problem lie with society and poor parenting letting people down and not teaching the right values
This is for a Uni debate thanking you

I think we need a multi agency response for the various ills in society, so those who have mental heakth issues often end up in Police custody as the systems are not in place to help them.

We don't have consistently high quality early education and we do ot value this, except we are as parents expected to be in work as soon as we can after mat/pat leave. If the quality of EY education was significantly better then we would have much better outcomes for children across the piece. EY educators and all teachers should be trained to master level and continue to develop their pedagogy through their working life and be paid a similar salary to doctors.

The devaluation of early education and then primary and secondary where there is far too much focus on examinations for children and young people, does not produce good citizens in my opinion.

Training the police is using a thimble of water to extinguish a forest fire.
