"Some candidate causes for this include depression, low socioeconomic status and cancer-related fatigue."

In other words, the link between longer sleep and death is a correlation rather than a causal link...

a bit loud and obnoxious with bad teeth??

BracingAir · 24/09/2007 21:59

lol - i was kidding.

Kevlarhead · 24/09/2007 22:20

Sleeping a lot is a symptom of the cause of death (in the examples given). Oversleeping won't kill you, but cancer will, and cancer therapy makes you fatigued. There's a connection between oversleeping and cancer, but lying in on a saturday morning won't cause you to drop dead...

...I have a stats presentation in a few weeks, and I'm trying get the practise in early...

BracingAir · 24/09/2007 22:36

and a 'casual link' would indicate it is a cause?

Bit worried as only a 12 hour sleep leaves me rested! but then again, i am going to hosp for investigation re low blood sugar.
