here

Teacher has been found murdered outside the prison she works at.

Obviously this is a bit close to home to me. I really hope there is a lot more to this story. Very worrying otherwise.

Very sad also

story

This prison is very near me. I have a friend who goes in there to advise inmates on benefits (she's in her 40s and they haven't released the itdentity of the victim yet, so I'm rather worried).

I also visited there to speak to a client when I was working, but that was many years ago.

It states on a local news website that she had her throat cut .

Freckle. I hope you here from your friend soon.

Freckle - I hope you get some news from your friend soo.

Hula - I thought of you when I heard ths new item.

Hulababy · 13/09/2007 14:08

They have updated BBC website:

"Officers are speaking to staff and prisoners as part of their inquiries, but it is understood that her murder is not being linked to inmates. "

Freckle, it also says this about the woman:

"The woman worked for private contractor A4e to deliver the Offender Learning and Skills Service. "

So, hopefully this makes your feel easier about your friend.

Not entirely sure. I don't know who she was employed by. She used to work with me at the CAB and then moved on to deliver benefits advice and other stuff related to being released.

Will have to try and get hold of her without sounding like an hysteric!

Oh God - how sad! I used to work for them, not in Prisons but

Freckle · 14/09/2007 10:14

The victim has now been named and it is not (thank goodness) my friend. I tried contacting her yesterday but could only get her answerphone, which was rather worrying.

Hulababy · 16/09/2007 20:45

Glad that your friend is ok.
