FWIW, I have a somewhat wishy-washy, middle of the road stance on the recent howl at the moon MN madness

Believe people should be able to discuss what they like in a public forum with little moderation.

But by God, those threads piss me off too.

Has the tactic of bumping other, more interesting threads been tried yet? I mean there's only 60 on active convos.

To me, MN has always meant a group of (usually!) friendly, knowledgable people willing to have their ear bent/share valuable experience/have a laugh.

Could everyone not just ignore the threads they find offensive, and post something useful on some other thread?

Or is everyone just enjoying the bun fight?

Sorry, just said that on another thread! Thoroughly agree.

Saturn74 · 11/09/2007 23:38

Hello Katsma.

The problem with ignoring the offensive threads is that it implies tacit approval.

And I don't approve of those ghoulish, sickening comments.

And I want to state the fact that I do not support them, or agree with them.

Katsma, I am enormously offended.

I never fight with baked goods.

Katsma · 11/09/2007 23:49

Not even a club sandwich?

Or a french stick?

don't worry Katsma

just drop yourself in. You'll be fine.

SueBaroo · 11/09/2007 23:52

Gracious me, no. I only ever launch vegetable missiles. If you bake something, you eat it.

Now, to make sure you understand, repeat after me:

Cake is for eating.

Butternut Squash is for pitching. Clear?

Sixer · 11/09/2007 23:52

it was a partial solar eclipse today. Things, names, topics hopefully should get back to norm tomorrow.

Saturn74 · 11/09/2007 23:53

And could you please just clarify whether the vegetables can be tinned?

SueBaroo · 11/09/2007 23:57

Only tinned if you're using some mechanical propulsion device. You could do yourself a serious injury if you try to throw one of those heavy industrial cans of tomatoes.

And besides, cucumbers are quite brutal enough (but only when they're wrapped in shrink-wrap)

Saturn74 · 11/09/2007 23:58

You speak wise words, Sue.

Katsma · 11/09/2007 23:59

Can I reserve the right to throw rocket?

Best thing for it anyway.

OP posts:
SueBaroo · 12/09/2007 00:01

I think it's actually compulsory to throw rocket

Ah, yes, it is, but only if you can follow it up with a swift cauliflower ambush.
