Hello not sure where to post this.

The grant being given to restaurants etc... If they were to stay open as takeaway only would they still be eligible for the grant? We opened for takeaway and have had 2 deliveries. That's it and didn't think about whether it would effect our grant for the rent etc

I think they would be. My dad runs a garage and is still open but has no customers really. He is eligible for the grant even though he is open. I think as your income is reduced it would be fine? It’s not for 0 income just reduced? I haven’t filled it out for him yet though so don’t take my word for it x

Thank you I hope not. We have only made £60 Blush don't want to miss out on help for £60. DH is panicking now as we need it to pay the rent. Thanks for the info. We have been told the council will contact everyone and nothing to fill out

Our council is paying people who already have a direct debit set up automatically but if you get small business rate relief, so don't pay anything, you have to fill in a claim form with your bank details on.

TARSCOUT · 01/04/2020 19:28

Ah sorry - Scotland here. Businesses have to apply themselves via their local council and unless you have heard directly from your council that they will contact you I would check their website. I know the grant of £10k can be applied for up to March 2021 in Scotland so if you can apply directly I would do so.

Bakingbaking · 01/04/2020 19:28

Ok thanks all. I will double check the council's website

The grant is not income dependant.the furloughing is. You can claim the grant even if you are all operating. It's free money no strings.

TARSCOUT · 01/04/2020 19:37

Technically the grant itself isn't repayable however it will need to be declared as income on your tax return so not quite no strings attached.
