"If you eat more calories than your body uses then you will get fat. Breastfeeding uses up 500 calories a day. Obviously if you eat to excess and do no exercise then you will stay fat. Its hardly rocket science!"
I am currently bfing my 3rd child. With each one I have gained weight whilst bfing but then lost it again once I stopped bfing. Bfing makes me fat, simple as that.
" Walking to the shops and leaving the car would help with the battle with the bulge. There is no need for gym membership (especially as many people pay for gym membership and don't use it.) Playing football in the park with your children, lugging shopping are all good forms of exercise."
Not great actually, good enough to maintain a healthy level of fitness but walking is not going to do much to help with losing a lot of weight. And if you are bfing a young baby, looking after toddlers, playing with them at the park, walking miles to do your shopping at the same time as cooking, cleaning, school runs etc, even if you're on benefits/SAHM and "have all the time in the world" it doesn't leave alot of opportunity for vigorous exercise.
