The parents of Rhys Jones

are on news24 right now going a press conference.

This is horrific. They are so brave.

My thoughts are with them.

I have just seen this too.

I just haven't got the words, frankly.

turn on the 10 o'clock news tonight.

watch the press conference given by Mr and Mrs Jones. I can't express my admiration, respect, sympathy for them and their family, for their dignity and bravery tonight.

something needs to change in this country: for Rhys, an 11 year old shot in the neck playing football.

Everything I hear about Rhys makes me want to cry. His poor family...

I can't even believe the boy who shot him meant to - a handgun on a pushbike, how accurate could his aim have been?

It's just the most awful, awful, wrong-place wrong-time accident, and impossibly awful for everybody concerned.

I was watching the news earlier and people were saying how the children always played football and it seemed they had the freedom of the area which is so rare now.

And then this.

I don't know if I can watch the news if the parents are on it, the poor mum and dad I can't comprehend what they are going through nor would I want to.
