Serial rapist found guilty

Joseph Mc Cann, the serial rapist who committed those atrocious crimes, should not apparently, have been released to go on to commit those crimes.
He should have been referred to the Parole Board but instead, he was released !!!

Those involved should hang their head in shame.

My heart goes out to his victims.

It was catastrophic wasn't it. Apparently one person has been sacked. I wonder if the full mess will come out over the weekend.

Those poor people he attacked Flowers.

The prison 'service' failed all those victims - utterly dispicable.

In tears reading the details about this. I knew about it at the time but had forgotten.

It is harrowing.

It makes me very angry, reading about the young brother and sister who he forced to watch each other being raped, to then see that the prisons executive has promised they will “learn from their mistakes”. Although it’s really years of government cost-cutting I’m angry about.

Slice up and privatise the services that protect us - undermine them for years and years and years - and this is the kind of shit that will happen.

That aside, I could also do without seeing McCann’s dead-eyed potato head staring out from the articles about this. Why run his picture?

I was utterly shocked at the number and brutality of attacks he committed in a very short period of time.

I hope whoever was responsible for this fiasco is held accountable, whether that is individuals or organisations or whole departments.

More importantly I hope all of the victims get the support that they need to recover from the trauma of what they have been through.

Equanimitas · 08/12/2019 12:44

What failed the victims was the government's decision to impose drastic cuts on the justice, police, prison and probation services. It's really quite unfair that individuals are having to carry the can for not being able to cope with a job that has been rendered impossible to perform satisfactorily.

Please, everyone, remember each and every one of these victims when you vote.
