We saw the shuttle on the launch pads where we were there last month. As a result the children have been rivited by all the coverage this time around!

paulaplumpbottom · 21/08/2007 13:56

Hope this one is successful. Where is it landing? Are they going to land it at the Cape?

southeastastra · 21/08/2007 14:06

from the link

Should landing in Florida be called off, the shuttle could try again on Wednesday. If it is unable to land at Cape Canaveral, there are two alternative landing sites: Edwards Air Force Base in California and White Sands in New Mexico.

oh wow i would love to visit there soapbox

Thank goodness they are safe. Can't believe it says:

"Engineers and technicians will examine Endeavour closely and then ready it for another flight next year. "

I wish they would build a new version which wasn't so prone to heat-shield damage!
