blimey - it must be a good school

Really not sure why this family is being made newsworthy?
Lots of CofE types "turn" to Catholic schools as they know they always perform better than their own.
As Catholocism and Islam are the only seriously practised widespread religions in this country, and the discipline involved has academic benefits, then it's a bit rich to be surprised that any parents wish the best for their children by way of school choice...

ermm perhaps it's made the news because while many secular families "suddenly" become Christians - you don't often hear of a family with a totally different relgious belief actually wanting to convert their child to a differing one!

eerrmm you do! Protestants to Catholocism. Shocking, but it happens. All the time.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 20/08/2007 23:38

not quite the same thing is it really?? After all while they are "different" - they also believe in the same fundemental person......Jesus......and a Catholic is still a Christian, as is a Protestant!

As I have said before, all state funded schools should be secular. I vehemently object to position that many parents find themselves in of feeling obliged to pretend to a belief which they don't have because that is the only way they can obtain the best STATE FUNDED education for their child.

No. Q.of Q..a different divinity as a start, but it is waaay to late to get into that!
