Should the UK issue a European Arrest Warrant for Donald Tusk for attempting to interfere in UK elections?

No.

Why are the Tories still suppressing the report into Russian interference?

prh47bridge · 14/11/2019 17:14

He hasn't committed an offence so no, we shouldn't issue an arrest warrant. It would be pointless. If he was conducting some kind of covert operation to subvert the election there may be a case but there is no problem with him making a speech.

Genuine question:

I heard a commentator say that the Russia report is exactly that, an intelligence-based report into all aspects of Russia. With a passage about elections. Not a report whose whole focus is electoral integrity and the Russians.

Anyone know which it is?

prh47bridge · 14/11/2019 19:40

The report is specifically about Russian interference in British politics.

NewNameGuy · 14/11/2019 19:45

I expect it'll find as much evidence as the Mueller report did.

Maybe it's not a conspiracy, it's not the Kremlim pulling the strings, people just wanted to leave the EU?

cdtaylornats · 14/11/2019 22:12

If Tusk isn't breaking the law with his interference, how can the Russians be?

Tusk is saying don't do Brexit

Which isn't directly a party political issue - as there are differing views within the party members

So he's not interfering in the election

Wow, just wow. I was going to write a long response on why the two really are not the same but it occurred to me that if you are genuinely asking this question it's definitely not worth my time trying to respond.

You're either a Russian troll yourself or completely delusional.

Can you really not see the difference between a foreign politician making a speech and another country attempting to covertly subvert an election through social media?

But if you really want a direct answer, UK political parties cannot accept money from people who are not British citizens or British businesses. It can also raise questions around overspending campaign limits if a UK party is co-operating with a foreign covert campaign.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 15/11/2019 00:28

He might not have broken any laws but Tusk is just as morally corrupt as Trump for interfering with other countries elections.

SerendipityJane · 22/11/2019 13:56

You got his surname wrong. It's "T-R-U-M-P"

Easy mistake if you aren't paying attention, I grant you.
