...and looks like quite a handful. Sits where she wants. Walks off when she wants. Demands when is the visit to the toyshop?

Tulip Siddiq nails it. This is all about the money for the Shah's undelivered tanks.

It just stinks. With the current developments in the area Nazhanin’s release looks even more unlikely too. I imagine the poor little girl must feel so disoriented and although she will be happy to see her father, is going to miss her mum and grandparents terribly. Starting school is a hard enough thing to adapt to for many children but in this circumstance it’s another major life change for her to adapt to. And I just hope Nazhanin’s health doesn’t decline even more now she doesn’t have her little girls visits to help her through her ordeal.

The definition of bittersweet for her dad, can't imagine what Nazanin must be feeling. Why the comments on her behaviour though OP? She doesn't speak English, she has been separated from her mother and grandparents, arrived literally hours ago in a strange country and was at a press conference. Most five year olds would struggle with that (massive understatement) Sad

Certainly not blaming the kid. I think she's doing amazingly well in the circumstances and thought that was the tone of my comments.

Poor wee soul. She will pick up the language again fairly quickly and her uncle is with her to help out.

Bloody politics. Of course it’s about money. There was billions of Iranian money and property grabbed after the revolution and still held. People lost their savings and income. Money isn’t worth a fraction of what it was pre revolution.

No, this lot don’t deserve to have a single rial but the ordinary people are suffering because of the government and sanctions.

As ever, the ordinary folk suffer while the elite live the life or Riley.
