I am actually incredulous at the coverage of Mel B's admission that she and Geri had a 'thing' in the early days of the Spice Girls. The DM in particular full of coy, lecherous talk about what they 'enjoyed'. It makes me sick. Why does anyone care? What does it matter? They are screaming headlines about how it was a one year affair , not a one night thing . If a man and a woman were having a fling in a band, would anyone think it newsworthy that they had 'enjoyed' a sexual relationship years later?
It is just so incredibly insulting and unpleasant. There is an inference that Geri is really upset to have this revealed, as if it's a shameful secret. I really don't get it at all.

Mel B has always been one for embarrassing sexual overshares in a bid to keep herself in the public eye and prop up her sexy image. No one is interested.

I didnt really get the geri is upset by this revelation thing for 2 reasons

  1. i presume shes aware she had a repationship with mel so its not a revealtion to her is it

  2. IT WAS HER WHO TOLD HOWARD STERN SHE'D HAD A RELATIONSHIP WITH A 'VERY FAMOUS WOMAN' and it was apparently howard stern that told mel b that geri had been talking about their relationship. So geri is hardly embarreseed about it indeed she was the one talking about it first

I also doubt the other girls didnt know especially as it apparently went on for a year. So all this DM its goingbto ruin the tour is clearlh bloody nonsence as living in the proximity they did the others would know who each other was dating

However the DM is shouting about it cos its a homosexual rekationship. Its not the first time the DM has sought to discredit a 90's pop star about homosexual relationship cough jan moirs disgusting insunations about the night stephen gately died is it

No one should tell publicly air a personal relationship with out the other persons knowledge, I wonde if this could impact their tour.

There is coverage of it because they want coverage of it to promote their tour. Hence why Mel did the interview and did a big 'reveal' even though Geri had already mentioned in her book that she'd had a fling with a woman.
If it's unpleasant and sad, it's because that's exactly what they wanted.

There was a funny piece in the guardian about it this week

Basically saying that in the mid 90s the pair of them were wandering around dry humping everything and everyone in sight and jolly well enjoying life very much - surely it would have been news if they hadn't 'done it'.

But yes, sensationalist tabloid fodder. Two girls, oooh er, etc.

It helps to sell tickets because it reminds people there is a tour. It's not that people will think 'oh we'll watch them sing because they had an affair'. It's that the Spice Girls are all over the papers and social media.
