Sad How awful.

I wonder if the poor thing was murdered or if she fell in the water drunk. I guess that will come out after the post mortem

She was some way from the river when last seen.

It’s heartbreaking.

It’s far but since we don’t know where she went after the last known sighting of her she could easily have walked down to the Humber, it’s a long walk but it’s not that far and it’s a walk that could easily be done.

Or it might be possible she went in at the river Hull, which was not too far away from where she was last seen, her body may have traveled down to the Humber and up the estuary, I’m not sure.

I think what’s important now is figuring out her cause of death and trying to establish where she went into the water.

It’s very sad that it took them this long to find her and that her family have had to suffer for nearly two months not knowing what happened to her.

Its awful news. A similar thing happened to my aunt and unfortunately no cause was ever established. I hope that more modern forensics can at least give Libby's family some answers (and if applicable find out who is responsible), not that that will ease their suffering right now.

Unlikely that she would have walked to the Humber, as she was very drunk. There are no sightings of her after she sat on the bench in Beverly Road as far as I know.

JollyAndBright · 22/03/2019 13:14

She could easily walk there using residential streets in around an hour and most residential streets don’t have cctv.

It could be that she decided to go into the city centre to try to get into another nightclub, if she wanted to go to the old town, where there are many bars, she would end up very close to the Humber.

It’s most likely there was foul play involved but i’m just offering alternative scenarios (and hoping it was an accident rather than something awful and violent happened to her)

I followed the investigation because she was last seen very close to where a friend lives and they had been helping with the civilian searches.

She was very drunk though, so would she have managed to walk that far? Sadly the most likely scenario is that someone took her in a car, either before or after she died. Sad

It's been confirmed that the police are treating it as a murder investigation. I think the police may already have an idea of who the perpetrator is and can now make a case. Hopefully justice will be swift for her family and they can get on with grieving. Poor girl. It's my worst nightmare when my student DD of the same age goes on a night out.

Her poor parents.
