The prosecutor also said the motive was still unclear, but could be "family reasons". Witness who had been sitting at the front of the tram when the shooting started, told national broadcaster NOS he did not believe it was a terrorist attack.

"The first thing I thought was, this is some kind of revenge or something, or somebody who's really mad and grabbed a pistol," he said.

BBC stating that authorities say it now appears to be a terrorist attack. Regardless of the reason It's sickening to hear of yet more poor innocent people just going about their lives and being murdered by someone whom they've done nothing to and who they've most likely never met but who is happy to kill them regardless. Like the poor people praying in the Christchurch mosques. They even welcomed him one called him Brother when he saw him approach, and he still slaughtered them brutally. It's becoming increasingly difficult not to despair of humanity.

I agree. The world is changing and not in the right way

Bloody hell, there are also nutters who piggy back these incidents and their twisted minds tell them to grab some ‘glory’ and they commit a copycat act, it’s all so heartbreaking and there’s so little anyone can do to stop/prevent so there’s a feeling of hopelessness and helplessness

Not sure if I like the fact Hopkins decided to travel to Utrecht after finding out about this gunman being of Turkish descent and going on about its non-Dutch residents because it’s considered to be a Little Morocco. Hmm

By whom? Grin

Foreigner travels to foreign country to investigate because she feels that there are too many foreigners there Hmm

One thing I will say about Kanaleneiland, it has a great Ikea (also forrin).

By whom? Grin

By herself of all people! Grin What she's doing sounds a bit weird when you say it aloud!

To be honest, I have a soft spot for Utrecht seeing as I grew up there.

Such a few days those poor souls in Christchurch, the three young people in Northern Ireland, and now this in Utrecht, such a beautiful place with lovely friendly peo. We stayed there two years ago, and found it a wonderful place, loved it there. Very sad

madcat I don’t know if you’ve seen the news that they apparently haven’t yet been able to find any connection between the murderer and the people he targeted.

Wonder what KH is doing today?

hereweareyes · 19/03/2019 13:57

Sorry those were two unrelated statements, I wasn’t trying to make some kind of point Blush

Yeah, I saw that today so right now he's been detained with manslaughter with possible terror motive. A bit strange and there was a letter in his getaway car.
