The reporter on R4 was interrupted by the sound from Melbourne Cathedral ringing out, and said, 'I can hear the tolling of the bells,' and I immediately thought, '...and it has a Pellian knell.'

The Catholic church are still backing him though and believe he will be found not guilty on appeal.

He is guilty. He is a power abusing shit, hiding in a cassock.

So angry that he is still denying it. Stupid ex-liberal prime ministers weighing in with their support.

We can all speculate, but at the end of the day, the judge was excellent, and very up front in making sure the jury understood the "beyond reasonable doubt" and the issue of not being tempted to make Pell pay for the rest of the abusers as the face of the church. We'll never know what they heard, but it must have been bloody convincing.

Even more shocking is that catholic school parents around Australia have funded his defence with a special levy in their school fees!

And why did we stop proceedings for over a month so he could have a double knee reconstruction?! He couldn't have had that while hiding out in Italy for the last few years? It's not like he's going into genpop in prison where he might need to spend a bit of time on his knees! He'll be sectioned off (expensively) as all child sexual predators are for their own protection. I hope they send the church the bill.

Not a lot of Zero Tolerance going on here.
