it was chimps not gorillas.
but yes, that's bloody stupid.
they are really dangerous animals. you might be safer in a bear enclosure than in with chimps.

I just re-watched the video of the chimps climbing out.
how the heck did the keepers not check the enclosure before letting the animals out.

The chimps set the pole up themselves didn't they? Do we know if it was always in their enclosure?
