Where did you hear this?

zephyrcat · 03/07/2007 10:42

Can't see anything on bbc or sky....

LennyLapin · 03/07/2007 10:43

It's on BBC

TroyMcClure · 03/07/2007 10:43

oohlala

dressedupnowheretogo · 03/07/2007 10:43

nothing on bbc news

LennyLapin · 03/07/2007 10:44

Not a bomb necessarily from the sound of it. Properly a result of the increased threat status.

LennyLapin · 03/07/2007 10:44

probably

MrBocoBurns · 03/07/2007 10:45

Looks like a false alarm - phew

Lapin i love that you even pedanticate your own self.

KrustyTheClown · 03/07/2007 10:46

some poor sod's just got to work and realised he's left his packed lunch behind

dizzydo · 03/07/2007 10:49

someone just came into work and told me. They had obviously been delayed because of it. Hopefully just a false alarm. Thanks everyone.

"pedanticate", Boco?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 03/07/2007 10:51

I hate the wording of these things on the news.
Such as the bbc earlier reporting that three controlled explosions had been carried out in a car in Glasgow.
They neglected to mention that actually they just blew the doors and boot open.
It makes it sound more dramatic than it is and is ll propaganda imo.
We don't need all this scremongering.

MrBocoBurns · 03/07/2007 10:51

Yes. You pedanticate.
You are fond of pedantification
You're a pedantifier.

LennyLapin · 03/07/2007 10:54

I think after Simpsons Day, I might change names to "pedantifier"

dizzydo · 03/07/2007 10:59

Yes, TheDevilwearsPrimark I totally agree with you. Sensationalism and very scary when you cant find out what's happened.

MrBocoBurns · 03/07/2007 11:04

Lapin be ThePedantifier. You could be like Edward Woodward in The Equaliser. Go round in a long trenchcoat, righting grammatical wrongs, correcting poor spellings wherever it may occur

Kewcumber · 03/07/2007 11:04

they closed the station just after I came through it but no mention of anything more dramatic than the usual security alert?

LennyLapin · 03/07/2007 11:10

Boco, you are a JAYneeuss!

ThePedantifier · 03/07/2007 11:10

Just so no bugger nicks it in the meantime

MrBocoBurns · 03/07/2007 11:51
Grin
edam · 03/07/2007 11:54

Blimey, I used to live there and can only imagine the chaos caused by shutting two tube stations and the roads. It's bad enough when they are all working.

There was a lot of this sort of thing during the IRA bombing campaign, usually a false alarm. Hope it's the case here.
