Plastic duck armada is heading for Britain after 15-year global voyage

The celebrated plastic ducks that were lost from a container in the Pacific back in 1992 are likely to be hitting our shores after an epic voyage. There is a reward for any that are found, so there is something to keep your DCs occupied on a beach holiday in the south west this year!

Will keep our eyes open
Nice touch that First Years (a company whose toys the dcs have had a lot of pleasure from over the years) are offering a reward for any ducks found

SoupDragon · 28/06/2007 17:17

"the ducks have become collector?s items, changing hands for £500." Maybe I should leave DDs First Years duck out in the garden all summer and claim it's a Voyager duck...

i wonder if i could pass my soft ducky off as one

RosaLuxembourg · 28/06/2007 22:13

I cut the article out for my DDs today. We live in the south-west near lots of beaches so they are convinced they are going to find one.

This lovely book was written based on this new item:

My DDs love that book. But the squeaker is very difficult to work.

wrinklytum · 28/06/2007 22:18

Oh,Rosa, thought it was just our copy.Sometimes cannot find squeaker at all.

There was a programme on radio 4 a while back about the epic journey of these ducks, believe it or not!!!
