How sad, RIP. I also admired him as a politician, one of the last good ones in my opinion.

Sad
ajandjjmum · 22/12/2018 20:47

Don't know why, always seems extra sad when someone passes at this time of the year.

RIP.

Gina2012 · 22/12/2018 20:52

Very sad

64ChewsBrains · 22/12/2018 21:28

Yeah, it would be awfully sad at any time of course; but the nearness to Christmas must add a layer of extra complexity to a time of year when there is already a lot of pressure on people to be joyful etc., which can be challenging enough without the anniversary of a bereavement coming round again each season.

Was thinking about this earlier as I read a different news story involving someone dying.

Supportive thoughts to anyone struggling Brew

agenuinestubbs · 22/12/2018 21:36

Oh that is sad. He came to speak at my university once and he was great, obviously a very clever guy. I also thought that he was very good looking Blush

PerkingFaintly · 22/12/2018 21:44

So sad to see this. I admired him for working to help the stability of the former Yugoslavia countries. Not a self-glorifying or UK-vote-winning topic, but he took it seriously.

MutantDisco · 22/12/2018 21:49

Oh gosh, RIP Paddy. Thank god you didn't have to see Brexit Thanks

SassitudeandSparkle · 22/12/2018 21:50

What a shame, he was one of the good politicians IMO Sad

BikiniYellow · 22/12/2018 21:52

Xmas Sad I will forever remember him and the "Eat my hat" comment.

ChesterGreySideboard · 22/12/2018 21:52

Very sad.
I met him several times as he lived near my parents and drank in the local. Genuinely nice guy.

hugoagogo · 22/12/2018 21:59

I've only just heard this, but I've always respected him
RIP Flowers

Badbadbunny · 23/12/2018 12:13

How we need people like him now to replace the current wastes of space at the top of all 3 major parties!
