the end of SATS as we know it

am i the only person who thought 'about bloody time' ,next on the hit list should be league tables.

nope ... mind you, in Wales, neither SATS nor league tables are used anyway ... so when i saw it, my first thought was: 'about bl00dy time'!

my goodness ,if wales isnt using sats or league tables how on earth do the politicians fudge figures?

I can't remember a thing from my GCSEs/A Levels

and SATS are a load of tosh too, especailly when you see 7 year olds under so much stress because they have had so much pressure put on them to do well.

There aren't any SATs in Wales now. The year two SATs were stopped at least 5 years ago. The year 6 SATs stopped about two years ago and last year schols could opt out of the year 9 SATs and this year they have been stoped completly.

and has the education system ground to halt as a result ? i think not ,we all know they are total bunkum

Don't get too excited - there will no doubt be another arse-wobblingly stupid alternative in the offing.

The education hss not ground to a halt here in Wales. Not having SATS has taken a lot of presure off of the children.

SATs managed to mess up my DS pretty well. His Y2 teacher pushed and pushed the class to do well, and he became so fed up of tests, he now refuses to write anything for them.

Good riddence SATs
