and she survives for 10 hours in the water !
Shock
She was on a cruise from Dubrovnik to Venice and fell off. She was rescued 10 hours later by the Croatian coast guard - the cruise ship failed to find her after turning back to search for her.
How could you survive 10 hours in the sea?
Floating ?

According to the paper today, 319 people have fallen off cruise ships since 2000! Apparently cruise ships don’t spend a long time looking because other passengers complain about missing connecting flights.. I wonder what the backstory is to this woman falling..

She’s not the first person to survive that long in the sea. Two major factors in her case – the temperature was not deadly due to the global heatwave, it was apparently 20 degrees where she was which is fine for long term survival. Plus she’s a flight attendant by profession so I imagine she’s fully trained in sea-survival. But lucky, too.

There was a crew member in the Gulf of Mexico last month who was spotted by another cruise ship miles from where he fell in after 26 HOURS!!!

If you have to fall in, those are the best sort of places to do it

Still wanting to know how she ‘fell’ in...Hmm

LapdanceShoeshine · 20/08/2018 13:48

Also, someone else must have known she’d gone off the ship & reported it? Didn’t they throw her a life belt?

All very peculiar

I read an article about people falling off cruise ships a while ago. It said in most cases people were either a victim of crime and were pushed overboard or they were drunk, climbed onto the railings and fell off.

My eye did she fall.

Almost 30 C actually. You don't survive very long at 20 C!

I wouldn't mind betting alcohol was involved.

The rails on cruise ships are quite high. It would be very difficult to fall overboard by just leaning over. Plenty of people lean over the side to watch the pilot jump from his boat onto the ship to assist the Captain in approaching and leaving the harbour.

As ever, probably more to this than been reported! Whatever, she survived, and if it really was a horrible accident, credit to her for remaining calm!
