I'd not heard of her until I read this story but how tragic

Just reading this too. What a tragedy - the wee soul.

Some tragedies are very difficult to understand. Ellie appeared to have everything to live for. It can be difficult to know how best to support teenagers and young adults.

Somewhere they are really being failed.

Hangbon a minute, I had assumed something like meningitis or even a snowboarding accident. Are you assuming that because it wasn't mentioned she took her own life?

Her suicide has been confirmed by her father who found her.

Oh no. I was so hoping it wasn't suicide.....

I was looking at her photos and a friend had commented how she had an incredible burning light in her eyes.

Such a bloody tragedy.

As I said I hadn't heard of her before starting this thread, I actually started it as she reminded me a little of a friends daughter. I feel a bit ghoulish now.

I didn't start a thread as I was worried about appearing ghoulish. Maybe get it deleted.

I've seen a lot of referencing to Samaritans in the reports I've read. And the words her father used "This cruel world took her" strongly suggest she took her own life.

Poor kid. Her family and friends must be in awful shock.

I was presuming an accident or illness too. Such a shame. Might be an idea to get thread deleted OP, as others have said.

Out of interest why get the thread deleted?

If she committed suicide it's because her mental illness or condition wasn't cured in the same way cancer can't always be cured.

We should still be able to mark her passing and say how terrible.

Death due to mental illness is not shameful.

Often when people start threads following a death they want to speculate. It seems even worse bevause I only heard of her because of her death iyswim

Oh I see. I think she deserves to be acknowledged for her achievements and sadness at her death. I'm not interested in speculating but I see your point.

The amount of stress on people in this country today is horrendous.
