If it's the latter, sad times. If it's the former, I am torn between 'Good' and 'Oh yes, resigning at this late stage isn't a fucking cop-out at all'.

Noooo. Too good to be true? Guess he is making a "principalled stand" to mask his own incompetence. Now he can blame someone else for the brexit shitshow when it inevitably goes tits up.
