Yes but not below minimum wage when I worked there. I was a supervisor and I got about 7 quid an hour but that was about 6 years ago. They offered me a (different)really great job with loads of potential but they wanted to pay me well below what I was worth, they were VERY shocked when I refused it.

that is rubbish - a company shouldn't rely on customers to make up the staff wages to what they should legally be - i haven't been to Carluccios since i found out about this ...

It is common practice in the US but only recently made legal here, wankers.

wankers indeed - the fact Head Office didn't reply to my concerns suggests they don't think that much of their customers either

They had loads of illegals working in the kitchens too. Lots of Albanians pretending to be Italian.
